Bridport Remembrance Parade Cancelled due to 2nd National Lockdown

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Saturday 31 October, Bridport’s Remembrance parade will not now go ahead on 8 November. Bridport Town Council and other local organisations had planned a socially distanced parade and service, but the surprise announcement of a second national lockdown has meant the events cannot proceed.

Town Clerk Will Austin said “We’re very disappointed not to be able to go ahead, but we understand and support the need for restrictions to bring the level of virus transmission down to protect the NHS and save lives.  We will ensure that wreaths from local groups can be laid, the union flag will fly at the Town Hall, and we are preparing a ‘virtual’ Remembrance video to be published online on Sunday morning, on our website at www.bridport-tc.gov.uk and across local social media channels.”
